This program is designed for those who seek to obtain European residency via an investment. There is no obligation to reside in the territory in order to enjoy the rights offered by the program.

MEMBER OF THE EU: Obtain residency in as little as 90 days in a member country of the European Union.
VISA-FREE TRAVEL IN THE SCHENGEN AREA: Freedom of movement within the Schengen area without a visa.
ELIGIBILITY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY: Application includes your family members (spouse or partner and children under 18 years of age).
MINIMUM VISIT: Minimum stay requirement of 7 days during the first year, and 14 days in the following two years.
QUALITY EDUCATION SYSTEM: Access 2 of the 10 best European universities, located in Portugal.

Investment options

REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT: for at least €500,000. Residential properties located in Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve are excluded from the program, but not commercial, hotel and office properties. If the investment is made in areas of low population density, the minimum investment is reduced by 20%, i.e. to €400,000.
ACQUISITION OF A PROPERTY: for at least €350,000 that is at least 30 years old or is in a rehabilitation zone and must also be renovated. If the investment is made in low population density areas, the minimum investment is reduced by 20%, i.e. to €280,000.
CREATE FULL-TIME JOBS: Creation of a minimum of 10 new full-time jobs in a Portuguese business that is owned by yourself as the main applicant; or create a minimum of eight new full-time jobs in a Portuguese business formed in a low-density area in Portugal, owned by the main applicant. Either invest a minimum of €500,000 in an existing Portuguese business, where the incorporated business must create a minimum of five new full-time jobs for at least three years.
PRIVATE EQUITY FUNDS: A minimum investment of €500,000 in a qualifying private equity fund may be eligible for a Golden Visa.
RESEARCH: Investment of €500,000 in research carried out by accredited institutions that are part of the Portuguese national scientific and technological sector.
