Investment options

Option 1: Commercial Investor

Requires applicants to meet all of these criteria:

NZ$3 million invested in New Zealand and held for 4 years
NZ$1 million proof of funds
Must be under 65 years old
Minimum of 3 years’ commercial experience
English speaking background or IELTS of 3 or above for main applicant, spouse and dependents
Spend 146 days of 3 to 4 year investment period in New Zealand
Must meet health requirements

Option 2: Business Entrepreneur

Applicants can choose between the following two options:

NZD 200K investment in a business (residency available after 2 years)
NZD 500K investment in a business (residency available after 6 months)
